Betty Burkett Stanley, 86 years of age, passed on Monday, December 19, 2022, in Tyler, Texas.

Betty was born January 19, 1936, in Tyler, Texas, to the late Charlie and Alva Burkett of Whitehouse, Texas. She was the third of six children. Siblings Frances Middleton, Charles Burkett, and Doris Rasberry preceded her in death.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate the life of Betty Burkett Stanley on Saturday, January 7, at 10:30 a.m. at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse. A private graveside service will follow.

Betty graduated from Whitehouse ISD and worked in the medical field for 25-plus years. Betty married Kenneth Wayne Stanley in 1955, and three children were born from this union; one daughter Cindy preceded her in death. Betty and Kenneth found their church home at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Whitehouse, where she loved working in the church and cherished praising the Lord—serving on several committees, always enjoying helping others. Betty loved to read her bible, pray for and with others, spend time with family, and always had a smile for everyone. She was a loving and caring person, a devoted wife, mother, and friend, always thinking of others first. “To know her was to love her.”

Betty is survived by her husband Kenneth of 67 years, her sons, Tony Stanley and wife Leah; Greg Stanley and wife Sandra; siblings Sue Muller and Garland Burkett; grandchildren: Drew Stanley, Deanna (Stanley) Solomon, Sarah (Stanley) Edwards, and Cooper Stanley; three great-grandchildren with one on the way, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
