Beverly Louise Massey

Beverly Louise Massey was born in Tyler, Texas on January 30,1954 and was raised in Troup, Texas. She left this world peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by the love of her children, after a recent diagnosis of cancer.

Beverly was preceded in death by her parents John W. Massey and Helen E. (Piper) Massey, her best friend of 25 years and husband Edward Lee Richardson, and her beloved sister, Cathy Lewellen.

Left to cherish her memory are her children; Daniel Hendrick of Whitehouse, Brian Hendrick and wife Missy of Mixon, Stella Masterson and husband Aaron of Austin; grandchildren Cayley Hendrick of Tyler, Colton Hendrick of Tyler, Vivian Masterson of Austin and Gwyneth Masterson of Austin; great-grandchildren Cayson Moody of Whitehouse and Weston Hendrick of Alto; and sisters Marilyn Wilkinson of Dripping Springs, Nancy Massey of Gladewater, Johnna Holden of Hutto, Rose Chastain of Bullard, and many nieces and nephews.

When our beloved Mom & Nana found out that she was sick and made the decision to go on hospice care, we had to talk her into having an obituary. If you know Beverly, you know that she was a private person who wanted to “keep it simple.” So, under her guidance, while we want to brag endlessly about her (she specifically said “no-bragging”) we will simply say this: She was the absolute best mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to us all, as well as a devoted yoga instructor for many years. Her guidance, wisdom, and love will live on in every life she touched. She faced this diagnosis and brief sickness with grace and calm; even in the face of death, she was always teaching us. We are forever thankful.

In accordance with Beverly’s wishes, a private scattering of ashes will be held by the family at a place that she loved dearly. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of East Texas, who helped us care for our beautiful mom and nana during her final weeks on this earth.
