Bruce Eugene Scroggins, age 68, of Glenwood, Texas, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, in Longview, Texas. A private interment will be held at the Mallettown Cemetary, Springfield, Arkansas, next to his parents.

Bruce was born on March 20, 1958, in Longview, Texas, to Farry “Frank” E. and Marie (Mallett) Scroggins. He graduated from New Diana High School in Diana, Texas.

Bruce worked in the oilfied, in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana & New Mexico, for over 30 years.  It was a job he loved & enjoyed teaching others about.  He was known for his strong work ethic, patience, and leadership.

In his free time, Bruce enjoyed gardening, old movies and simply being with his family. He loved the simple things in life like good food, sitting by his garden in the evening & a good glass of sweet tea.

Bruce is survived by the love of his life, Rebecca “Beckie” Armstrong; his sister, Kay Porter and daughter Andra Patton; his sister Marilyn Price and children, Jeff Duty, Terri Smith and Kristie Johnson and his grandson, Jarron Bray.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents D Q & Mathilda Scroggins and Joseph & Lona Mallett; his niece Lesley Patton and his brother-in-law Bill Porter.

A memorial service to honor Bruce will be held at a later date.
