Edward Lincoln Hawkins Jr.

Edward Lincoln Hawkins Jr., 70, of Chapel Hill, Texas, passed away on July 23, 2026.

Edward was born on March 19, 1956, in Orlando, Orange County, Florida, to Edward Lincoln Hawkins and Pansy Mae Harrill, who both preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Hawkins, the love of his life. Though he missed her deeply, the love they shared remained evident to everyone who knew him after her passing.

Edward spent many years as a dedicated truck driver before retiring. In retirement, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved fishing, trading tools and treasures with friends, and never missed the chance to gather with his friends for breakfast at Whataburger each morning. Those breakfasts were filled with stories, laughter, and friendships he cherished.

A faithful man, Edward loved attending church and valued his relationship with God. His faith was the foundation of his life and gave him strength throughout the years.

Edward was truly a child at heart. He had a playful spirit, an infectious sense of humor, and a remarkable ability to make people laugh. Whether he was telling jokes, sharing stories, or simply spending time with family and friends, he had a way of brightening every room he entered. He never met a stranger for long and had a gift for making everyone feel welcome.

He is survived by his daughters, Edith Lane and her husband, James Lane, and Elizabeth Hernandez and her husband, Richard Hernandez; his beloved grandchildren, Bryant, Journey, Gaven, Ricardo, and Arianna; and his brother-in-law, Robert Young.

While his family grieves his passing, they find comfort in knowing he has been reunited with Barbara and those who went before him. His laughter, generous heart, unwavering faith, and deep love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him.

Edward's life was a reminder that joy is often found in the little things—a morning breakfast with friends, a fishing pole in hand, a good laugh, and time spent with the people you love.
