Elizabeth Cecille Garner left this world peacefully on April 3rd, 2026 surrounded by her loving family at Garrison Nursing Home.
Cecille was born on September 8th1935 in Harris County the daughter of Rushton Williams and Eva Ethel Nugent. She grew up in Jena, Louisiana and Houston, TX where she developed a strong sense of community and a strong love for her family. After graduating from M.B. Smiley High School she went on to pursue a career as a freight transport specialist to which she dedicated herself to for 15 years.
A loving wife to Buddy Cooper Smith and was a pillar of strength and support for her family. Together they raised 3 children. She was a devoted mother, always there to offer guidance, love, and a hearty laugh. She cherished family gatherings and her presence at holidays and celebrations brought warmth and joy to those around her.
Cecille had many passions in life, including sewing, being an animal enthusiast, as well as participating in her kids sporting events which she shared her passions with her children and grandchildren. She had a remarkable way of bringing comfort and peace to those around her, and her smile illuminated every space she encountered.
She is survived by her loving brothers Nick (Marie) Williams and Craig Aarons as well as children Nikki Smith, Celeste Smith and Van (Wonda) Smith. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.
