Sissy, as she was affectionately known passed away on Friday morning, January 16, 2026, in a Palestine hospital after a very brief illness.
She was born in Grapeland, Texas on April 17, 1943, only fifteen minutes before her twin brother Elmer known as Buddy. A lifetime tease between them on that fact. To parents Elmer Lee Dickey and Eunice Allen Dickey. Adding to 3 older siblings, Wallace Turner, Gaynelle Turner Dietz, Curtis Turner, that later grew by two younger, Billy Dickey & Randy Dickey for a total of seven children.
Both parents & all 6 siblings preceded her in death.
As a very active & studious teenager graduated from Grapeland High School in 1961.
Married young had two children, Debra Vest Melson & Keith Vest.
Grandchildren Brandy, Vanessa, Magan, Keila, Alissa, Austin, Jared, Roman.
Great-Grandchildren, Keithan, Aviyanna, Maliyah, Toran, Peyton, Kameryn, Mattisyn, Tristyn, Aubree, Grayson.
Preceded in death by her son Keith & grandson Austin, granddaughters Brandy, Vanessa.
Also, preceded in death by her husbands.
An immaculate homemaker; wife, mother, friend & coworker. Her many careers included waitress, and 23 years as a Walmart associate in Crockett.
There was nothing Sissy enjoyed more than dancing, truly. And she waltzed her way into heaven. She spent leisure time reading lots of magazines. A fabulous baker; Homemade from scratch-cakes, pies, biscuits, cornbread. She hosted parties, get-togethers in her home frequently.
She was baptized as a young girl. Her faith was important to her.
Sissy was a forgiven & forgiving Christian.
