Frank Mueller

  Frank Mueller, formerly of Thermopolis passed away September 24th at his home in Coffee City Texas surrounded by family and friends after a long illness with Parkinson disease. He had moved to Texas after thirteen years in Thermopolis so that his wife Lillie could be near her son in the event of his passing. They both really loved Thermopolis and the wonderful friends they made there and missed it immensely after their move, Frank was born in White Plains New York April 27th 1925. He had a brother; August, and a sister: Grace, both are deceased. His parents died when he was only sixteen leaving him and his siblings orphans. A kindly aunt took on the responsibility of the children after that. Frank joined the Navy shortly after that to help support his family, and served two terms on the USS Tigrone submarine, during world war two and the official surrender of the Japanese in Pearl Harbor. Upon leaving the Navy he spent the majority of his working life driving trucks, a total of fifty years and worked for most of the major companies. At one time he even worked as a bus driver for Greyhound. During his retirement years he worked as a manager for Grandview trailer court for about five years.

    He was active for several years playing cards at the senior center and with friends at the Pioneer home and really enjoyed doing so. He was also an active church member involved in activities at Roundtop, First Baptist and Risen sun. He leaves behind his wife Lillie who will greatly mourn his absence After sharing thirty years with him, his three children Bruce and his wife Linda of Jacksonville Florida, Dihnah and her husband Jeff also of Florida, and Shellie and her husband Don of Panama. A fourth child proceeded him in life, dying in the Vietnam war. He also left behind two step children who greatly loved him: Jordan and wife Stacy of Coffee City Texas, Rosemary and husband John of Flint Texas, also a beloved friend he considered an adopted son Greg Lea of Thermopolis. He left behind many good friends, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

    Funeral services will be conducted in Thermopolis at an announced dat and his ashes will be interred in their cemetery plot at Riverside. Memorials in his name can be sent to Lighthouse Baptist church in Frankston Texas.
