Gary Alan Johnson, passed away September 28, 2021, at home in Tyler Texas. Gary was born September 17, 1936 to Glenn and Irma Johnson. He graduated high school at Lincoln Northeast,then got his apprenticeship doing electrical work, then became a journeyman. He met his future bride Yvonne Borwege in 1953 at a new years dance.They married june 12 1955 and drove their 1946 ford coupe from Bladen Nebraska to Canada for their honeymoon.He always loved sports starting back with watching his kids and the neighbor kids play ball in Valparaso Nebraska. He enjoyed camping,hunting,square dancing and round dancing. He and Yvonne traveled and collected and sold antiques. He was always a hard worker and enjoyed helping others.Gary came to know Jesus at the age of 42 when he reluctantly[ while working on his car giving it a tuneup] accepted an invitation to a church service. The pastor began talking about how a relationship with God is a lot like a car and a spark plug! He's been a man of faith ever since! He has been a member of Grace Fellowship Church for many years and loved serving there.Gary is preceded in death by his beloved wife Yvonne; brothers Lyle Johnson and Glenn Johnson;Survived by children Shari Richey,Shelli Ward and Scott Johnson;grandchildren;Jake Richey,Allison Hauck,Kara Odom,Joseph Finkner,Liz Evans,Emily Castellanos,Zack Johnson,Josiah Johnson and Dylan Ward; great grandchildren: Aiden Simmons,Kai Simmons,Logan simmons,Kelci Zalaya,Danielle Ferguson,Chevy Simmons,Jacob Richey,Addy Finkner,Kylar Richey,Aleah Odom and Jack Ward.
