James “Jim” Dowdy

James “Jim” Dowdy, 85, of Rusk, Texas, passed away on May 16, 2022 .  A Marine Corps Veteran of the Korean War, Jim subsequently served 20 years in the U.S. Coast Guard and retired to Rusk where he worked ten years for the Texas State Railroad. 

A devoted Mason for over 50 years, Jim is survived by his wife, Beverley Dowdy, daughter, Kay (Mick) Hartley, sons Stuart (Lisa) McKinley and Craig McKinley, and a proud grandfather of three: Nathan McKinley, Ethan McKinley, and Megan McKinley. Surviving siblings include Adrian Dowdy and Joyce (Del) Hines.

Jim will be honored in a private ceremony with family.
