Janet Marie Hutton, age 83, passed away peacefully on February 26th.
Janet was born on December 20, 1942, in Alvin, Texas, to the late Sid and Helen Hollingsworth. She attended Alvin High School, where she met her high school sweetheart, Welford Samuel Hutton, "Sam." They were married on July 12, 1959, and shared a deep and enduring love.
Sam was truly the love of Janet's life, and his passing at the age of 38 came far too soon. Janet carried his love with her always, continuing to share stories about him with family and friends throughout the years. Even after 47 years, her love remained steadfast, and she looked forward to the day they would be reunited in the presence of the Lord.
Janet is survived by her devoted children: Randy Hutton; Chris Hutton and his wife, Dottie; and Jana Lindley and her husband, Todd. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren: Jeremy Smith, Krista Ballard, Amber Nichols, Ryan Hutton, Michael Keith, and Eric Keith; and 16 great-grandchildren: Caleb, Andrew, Shepherd, Bear, Arthur, Callen, Gray, Shanlee, Kambryn, Mavvis, Colten, Brayden, Coleby, Ryleigh, Quincy, and Kason.
She is also survived by her dear sister, Barbara Quinn of Wright City, Texas, and her brother and sister-in-law, William and Kathy Hutton of College Station, Texas.
Janet devoted her early years to being a full-time mother, a role she cherished deeply. After Sam's illness and passing, she was inspired to pursue nursing so she could care for others. She became a Registered Nurse and faithfully served at Mother Frances Hospital for 18 years.
Family was the center of Janet's life and her greatest joy. She loved to travel and made it her mission to share those experiences with her family. Among her many adventures were a memorable cross-country road trip with three young children to destinations including Colorado, Idaho, Washington, Yellowstone, California, Utah, and the Grand Canyon. She later created lasting memories by taking her children, their spouses, and grandchildren all together on a family cruise, as well as organizing trips to Europe with many loved ones over the years.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Janet's life at a Celebration to be held on Saturday, April 25, at the Stretford in Tyler, Texas at ( time).
Janet's life was a beautiful reflection of love, devotion, and faith. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace in the presence of her Savior, reunited with those she loved.
"Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
