Juanice "Wecie" Floyd, age 82, of Jacksonville, Texas, passed away on June 9, 2026. She was born on September 8, 1943, in Jacksonville, Texas, to Elbert and Juanita Thurman, the first of nine children.

Life asked a great deal of Wecie, and she gave it everything she had. She met hardship with a fierce spirit and a laugh that could fill a room, and she never once let the weight of the world dim her love for the people around her. Her devotion as one of Jehovah's Witnesses was a quiet, steady light throughout her life, and those who loved her find comfort in the hope of seeing her again in the resurrection.

There was nothing she enjoyed more than listening to her brothers and sisters sing, and the sound of family gathered together brought her tremendous joy.

She was a wonderful mother, sister, and aunt, and the kind of person who made everyone around her feel seen and loved.

She is survived by her son, Toyce Floyd, and daughter-in-law Kay; her sisters Christine, Jeannie, Nelda, and Mary Lu; her brothers David and Alan; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her son, Royce Floyd; her parents, Elbert and Juanita Thurman; her sister, Dorothy Packer; her brother, Robert Thurman; and many other beloved family members.

 Details on a gathering will be shared at a later date. She leaves behind a family who will carry her spirit, her laughter, and her love forward.
