Julia Lynn Odom, 81, of Bullard, passed away at her home on Thursday afternoon, June 25, 2026. A Graveside service will be held on Monday afternoon, June 29, 2026, at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Rusk, to begin at 2:00pm.

Julia was born in Mount Pleasant, Texas, on August 23, 1944, to parents Luvis and Sadie Dunn. Julia worked hard to provide for her family. She was a devoted employee who loved her job. Julia was an Administrative Coordinator for Bealls department stores general office. Julia married Merl, the love of her life, and together they created a beautiful family. Julia was a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Julia was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Julia is preceeded by her Father, Luvis Ricks Dunn, Mother, Sadie Lou Dunn, Brother, Ronald Dunn, and Sister, Sonia Butler.

Julia is survived by her Husband, Merl Thomas Odom, Jr., Daughter, Jennifer Yancey (Paul), Brother, Dellis Dunn, Grandson, Joshua Odom, Granddaughter, Emily Yancey, Granddaughter, Samantha Yancey, Grandson, Nathaniel Yancey, Great-granddaughter, Emma Sword, Great-granddaughter, Hazel Sword, Great-grandson, Lucas Sword, Great-grandson, Conner Sword, and Great-granddaughter, Ravyn Blake.
