Linda was born in Palestine, Texas, October 3, 1946, to parents William and Clara Chaffin. Linda married the love of her life, Jerry Dwaine Langston, and together they created a beautiful family and life. Linda was proud to be a wonderful wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend to many.

Linda was known for her infectious smile that could light up any room. She loved life and was always ready for a fun time. Above all else, she was a devoted wife, loving Momma, and cherished MawMaw who adored her family deeply. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were truly the light of her life. She loved cheering them on at sporting events, listening to their daily stories, and celebrating each of their accomplishments. Linda was their biggest supporter and took immense pride in every one of them.

Many will remember Linda’s warm smile and caring spirit from her years at Heaton Eye Associates, where she faithfully worked in the Surgery Center for nearly 32 years. After retirement, she enjoyed spending precious time with family, watching Texas Rangers baseball, and doing what she loved most — shopping, shopping, and more shopping.

Linda bravely fought a five-year battle with two different cancers with remarkable strength, grace, and faith. Through every challenge, she remained strong for her family and continued to face life with courage and determination.

Linda came to know Christ as a young girl and carried her love for the Lord throughout her life. She married her high school sweetheart just one week after graduating high school, and together they built a beautiful life filled with love and family. They were looking forward to celebrating their 62nd wedding anniversary on June 6th.

Linda grew up in Slocum, Texas, where she attended school and formed many lifelong friendships. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
