January 24, 1955 - October 15, 2025
Phillip Wayne Little II, age 70, entered into his Heavenly Home on October 15, 2025, at his residence in Tyler, Texas, following a short battle with cancer. He was born in Gladewater, Texas, on January 24, 1955, to Phillip Wayne Little and Vera Maudelle Lane Little. Phillip was preceded in death by his parents.
He graduated from Sabine High School in 1973 and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University in 1977.
In the 1980’s, Phillip worked in the oil field. In the 1990’s, he and Tammie lived and worked at Pleasant Hills Children’s Home in Fairfield, Texas. At the end of 1999, they moved to Corsicana, Texas, and Phillip was employed by the State of Texas as a Staff Trainer for the Texas Youth Commission. He was transferred four years later to Dallas County and served the agency as a Juvenile Parole Officer for two years prior to transferring to Tyler, Texas. He continued to serve as a Parole Officer, covering multiple counties in East Texas until his retirement in August 2018.
Phillip and Tammie attended Trinity Fellowship Church for 20 years, where he served as a member of the Worship Team, an Elder, a Teacher, and an Encourager. He loved people and spent most of his time talking to them about the Lord. He really loved playing the saxophone and played in multiple bands all over East Texas for more than 35 years. When God gave him his first saxophone as an adult, he promised he would always play it for Him, and Phillip kept that promise. He also enjoyed reading, hiking, and golfing, but most of all, helping others in any way possible.
Phillip is survived by his wife of 47 years, Tammie Nell Todd Little of Tyler; daughter, Gina Little of Dallas; granddaughter, Alexus and husband, Jason Lauchner of Ft. Worth; great-grandson, Hunter Wayne Lauchner; and brother/best friend Paul Dean Little and wife, Kim, of Kilgore, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial gifts be made to "Love in Deed" Food Ministry at www.tfctyler.com.
