Phyllis Stamps Wilson

July 2,1939 - March 5, 2023 

Mrs. Phyllis Stamps Wilson died peacefully on March 5, 2023, in Tyler, TX at the age of 83. Phyllis is survived by her daughter Leisa Young of Tyler, TX,  sons Robert Cobb of Tyler, TX, Randy R. and Candice Stamps of Tyler, TX, Brother, Joel Mick Wade of Palm Springs, CA, granddaughters Monica Haskins, Raven Stamps, Lindsey Coupe, Jessica Cobb, Tiffany Fields, Jennifer Cobb, and Grandsons Shae Young, Ronin Stamps, Levi Stamps, Elijah Phillips, and Isaiah Phillips, Eleven great grandchildren, Two great- great grandchildren, Ten nieces and nephews and many cousins.  She is proceeded in death by her father George W. Wade, mother Floyce “Lorene” Wade Nation, sister Joyce “Madonna” Hassenzella and brother James Robert “Bob” Wade, husbands Russell R. Stamps and Arliss Wilson. 

Phyllis was born on July 2, 1939, in Carlsbad, NM to Lorene and George Wade.  She graduated from El Paso Tech High school in 1957.  She moved from El Paso to California then to Tyler in 1970,  where she worked for Mother Francis Hospital,  met the love of her life Russell R. Stamps in 1971. They got married and had Randy R. Russell Stamps in 1975.  They resided in Chapel Hill where she worked as the vocational secretary and special education teacher’s aide for Chapel Hill ISD for many years.  Later in life Phyllis found her calling in caregiving, and took care of several different families over the years.

Phyllis loved life, family, ALL babies, but most of all Jesus! She was a witty lady with a dynamite personality!! Those who truly knew her, were blessed! She loved a good road trip and was a phenomenal cook!! She was an animal lover with a passion for helping others!!

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday March 18, 2023, at 2 pm at Hilltop Nazarene Church located at 10818 University Blvd. Tyler, TX 75707.  Rev. Dr. Karl Paton will officiate the ceremony.  All are welcome to attend and celebrate our mom’s life.  In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Alzheimer’s Alliance of Smith County.
