Regina Lea Stansel

Regina Lea Stansel, 71, of Liberty City, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026. She was born on June 6, 1954, in Fort Worth, Texas.


Regina was preceded in death by her father, Dubart Stansel, and her mother, Mamyie Stansel. 


She is survived by her loving children, Michael Stansel; Troy Baker and his wife, Christin; and Logan Mapps and her husband, James. She was a proud grandmother to Kera Reyne, Jersie Mapps, Gracie Mapps, Topanga Stansel, Obi Baker, Kailey Partain, Arron Stansel, and Jacob Stansel. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.


Regina is also survived by her sisters, Cheryl Hunt and Koena Easley; her nieces, Amy Thompson and Misty Easley; and her nephews, Dale Thompson and Chris Easley, along with many other family members and friends who will cherish her memory.


Education and teaching were Regina’s lifelong passions. She earned her master’s degree in education and dedicated more than 30 years to teaching. She taught at many schools throughout her career and ultimately retired from Kilgore High School. During her teaching career, she also taught ESL at Kilgore College, expanding her reach and impact on students from diverse backgrounds. She touched the lives of countless students and was known for her ability to remember and share stories about nearly every student she taught.


Regina was a proud member of ADK and deeply valued the friendships and connections she made through her involvement. Above all, she loved her family and treasured every moment spent with them.


In her free time, Regina found joy outdoors, especially tending to her flower beds and creating beautiful spaces in her yard. She took great pride in gardening and loved sharing her flowers with family, friends, and neighbors.


Regina will be remembered for her kindness, dedication, wisdom, and unwavering love for her family. She leaves behind a legacy of learning, compassion, and service that will not be forgotten.


She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Regina’s life will be held at a later date.
